If you’ve been Googling “healthy Costco shopping list” trying to figure out what’s actually worth buying, this is it. Real-life staples, clean ingredients, and no “perfect diet” pressure.
Costco can be a total trap (how did that kayak get in my cart?!), but once you find your rhythm, it becomes your secret weapon for eating well on a budget. These are the things we actually buy and use every week nothing to trendy or overcomplicated. Just real food, clean-ish ingredients, and a little bit of chocolate.
Oh! And I made a printable grocery list for you!
It’s not Costco-specific, so you can use it at any store! It’s cute and simple and keeps us (mostly) from impulse buying. You can grab it below before diving into our staples.
This printable is perfect for any grocery store, not just Costco. There’s space to plan meals, list out your staples, and keep your cart aligned with your goals (instead of just vibes).

May – Costco Hauls $133.43
The total includes tax, which is why the numbers don’t add up exactly—but that’s just Costco math. I also have a few amazon affiliate links sprinkled in here! They add no extra cost to you! Thank you so much if you use them!
Haul 1 – $133.43
This first May Costco haul was all about restocking core staples and grabbing a few quick proteins to make weekday meals easier (thank you, Kevin’s). We kept it simple and healthy, picking up clean ingredients and the things we always like to have on hand.
Organic Chicken Thighs – $32.05
Quick protein for meal prep! We tossed these in the Instant Pot and shredded them for lunches and a few dinners throughout the week.
Wilcox Organic Jumbo Eggs – $12.99
We rotate between buying eggs at Costco and Natural Grocers (NG has the best price on organic pastured eggs!) I’m crossing my toes our local Costco will someday carry pastured eggs!
Bare Bones Beef Bone Broth Packets – $9.89
These are so versatile. We use them to add protein to soups, tacos, or rice—or just sip on their own. They’re also an awesome travel essential, perfect for adding a boost of protein when eating out.
Kevin’s Chicken – $13.99
One of our favorite quick meals. It’s fully cooked, made with clean ingredients, and perfect for nights when we need something fast but still want to eat well. One pack feeds us two meals, we usually pair it with bone broth rice and veggies. The cilantro lime is our go-to. I swear once you add the toppings, it tastes just like a Chipotle bowl.Organic Lettuce – $8.99
Fresh greens that go with everything. My husband paired this with the chicken for a few of his lunches this week! There was a bit of greens left over for tacos and other meals.Kirkland Grass-Fed Butter – $9.99
Great butter, incredible price, and we go through it fast—mostly because I make these brown butter oatmeal raisin cookies on repeat. They’re incredibly easy and we always freeze the dough raw so we can bake fresh cookies throughout the week.Kerrygold Cheese – $13.00
This is a high-quality, nutrient-dense cheese we always keep on hand. It took me a little time to adjust to the flavor—J (my husband) loved it right away! But now we’re both hooked! Most other cheeses taste fake to us now.Organic Fudge Bars – $11.49
A simple dessert we keep stocked in the freezer. They’re portioned, clean, and taste amazing. I swear they taste like a Wendy’s chocolate frosty!Canning Jars – $13.49
I had no idea Costco sold canning jars—and we were seriously needing some. Right now, we use them for everything except canning (lol). They’re a great non-toxic, budget-friendly food storage option. I use these lids for them!
