Flylady Zone 3: Bathrooms + Laundry

If you are building your FlyLady control journal, this FlyLady Zone 3 printable is for the bathroom and laundry area. These are two of those hardworking spaces that can get messy quickly, but they also feel so good once they are reset.

For my simplified FlyLady routine, I like to pair the bathroom and laundry area together for Zone 3.

They just make sense together.

The towels, bath mats, cleaning cloths, laundry baskets, and extra toiletries all seem to overlap. When one space gets out of hand, the other one usually needs a little attention too.

But instead of putting everything on one giant checklist, I made these as separate printables.

That way, you can print one bathroom checklist for each bathroom in your home and one laundry checklist for your laundry room, laundry closet, or laundry area.

What Is FlyLady Zone Cleaning?

If you are new to the FlyLady method, the home is divided into five zones that rotate throughout the month!

Instead of trying to clean the entire house at once, you focus on one area at a time.

Each time the zone comes around, you spend a few short sessions caring for that space. Then you move on to the next zone.

This rhythm keeps the house moving forward without long, exhausting cleaning days.

If you would like to see the simple routine I personally follow, you can read more about it in my here! + Free Flylady at a Glance Printable.

That printable explains the basic routines and zone rotation that help keep things manageable.

Want a Cleaning Checklist for Every Zone?

This is part of a series of simple FlyLady zone cleaning checklists I’ve created to help you care for your home one area at a time.

If you enjoy having a clear, no fluff guide, you can find the rest of the zone checklists here:

Zone 1: Entrances + Porches
Zone 2: Kitchen + Dining Room
Zone 3: Bathrooms + Laundry
Zone 4: Bedrooms
Zone 5: Living Areas

You can print each checklist and add it to your control journal or homemaking binder so everything is in one place as you move through your zones.

What Is Zone 3? (And How I Organize My FlyLady Zones)

In the original FlyLady system, the home is divided into five rotating zones that you move through each month.

I’ve kept that same structure, but arranged the spaces in a way that feels a little more natural for how I move through my home in everyday life.

The foundation of the system stays the same. This is simply the way I personally group things.

Zone 1: Entrances + Porches
Zone 2: Kitchen + Dining Room
Zone 3: Bathrooms + Laundry
Zone 4: Bedrooms
Zone 5: Living Areas

Zone 3 focuses on your bathrooms + laundry room.

These are the spaces that work hard behind the scenes, but they are easy to overlook when it comes to deeper cleaning.

They may not be the rooms we think about first, but they collect a lot over time. Extra toiletries, half-used products, cleaning supplies, bath mats, towels, laundry baskets, and those random little things that never seem to have a home.

A bathroom cabinet can get cluttered fast.

The laundry shelf can slowly fill up with products you do not really use.

A few lonely socks can turn into a whole collection.

And because these spaces are often smaller, it does not take much for them to start feeling messy or overwhelming.

That is why having a simple plan for Zone 3 can make such a big difference.

Instead of trying to deep clean every bathroom and completely reset the laundry area in one day, you are simply giving these spaces regular attention in small, manageable steps.

You can print one bathroom checklist for each bathroom in your home and one laundry checklist for your laundry room, laundry closet, or laundry area.

Use what applies to your home and skip what does not.

The goal is to make these hardworking little spaces feel a little more cared for, one simple task at a time.

How to Use This Zone 3 Cleaning Checklist

This checklist is here to guide you through your bathrooms and laundry room in a simple and manageable way.

You are not meant to finish everything all at once.

Instead, think of it as something you return to throughout the week.

Set a timer for around 15 minutes and choose a few simple tasks

As you complete tasks, mark them off so you always know what has already been done and what you can come back to next.

If the week ends and you have not finished the list, that is completely okay.

When zone three comes around again, you can simply pick up where you left off and keep moving forward!

You can download the printable below and add it to your FlyLady control journal or home management binder.

This makes it easy to come back to each time Zone 3 rotates.

The checklists include simple tasks like:

• cleaning sinks and faucets
• scrubbing toilets, tubs, and showers
• decluttering bathroom cabinets and drawers
• wiping down the washer and dryer
• organizing laundry supplies
• washing rugs and bath mats
• sweeping and mopping the floors

Nothing overwhelming. Just the small details that help your bathrooms and laundry area feel fresh, cared for, and easier to keep up with.

I like to think of this as doing a little bit of deep cleaning consistently, so you never really need those big, exhausting cleaning days.

Instead of saving everything for a full spring clean, you are slowly working through those deeper tasks over time.

And because you keep coming back to it each month, your home naturally maintains a level of clean without all the pressure.
