If you’ve ever walked into your bedroom, looked around, and thought, “Where do I even start?”—you’re in the right place.
I created a simple but super helpful deep cleaning bedroom checklist that you can download for free and use inside your FlyLady Control Journal!
My hope is that this printable can help you feel like you have a plan and stay focused!
Not following the Flylady system? Don’t worry. This checklist is still a great tool to help you deep clean any bedroom, anytime!
Want a Deep Cleaning Checklist for Every Zone?
This is the first in a series of deep cleaning zone checklists I’m creating. If you want a simple, no-fluff cleaning routine that works with real life, you’ll love having one checklist for each zone.

It includes another free printable that helps you see what zone you’re in, plan ahead, and keep your week feeling organized!
What Is Zone 4? (And How I Organize My FlyLady Zones)
In the traditional FlyLady method, your home is divided into five zones that rotate week by week. I’ve tweaked the layout a little to better match how most of us live and move through our homes. Here’s how I organized the zones:
Zone 1 – Entrances & Entryways
Zone 2 – Kitchen
Zone 3 – Bathrooms, Laundry, and Hallways
Zone 4 – Bedrooms (all of them!)
Zone 5 – Living Spaces (Living Room, Home Office, Playroom, etc.)
Each week, we focus on just one zone! Spending up to 15 mins a day in the current week’s zone. That adds up to and 1 hour and 45 mins total of deep cleaning (or decluttering! if you need to declutter first!). I love this cleaning schedule because it’s simple, sustainable, and easy to build into your life! Even if you feel scattered or overwhelmed!
Mostly it allows you to be consistent because you come back to it every day!

How to Use This Bedroom Deep Cleaning Checklist
This checklist is designed to help you work through each of the bedroom’s in your home. Working with a checklist helps you stay focused and allows you to work in small chunks of time. Simply check off what you’ve done for the day so when you return to it you know exactly what to work on next!
You don’t have to clean every bedroom in one week! Start with the room that needs the most love, work through the checklist, and move on to the next one if you have time. If you don’t finish everything before the zone rotates, just mark where you left off and pick back up next month when Zone 4 returns!
Tip: Laminate or put your checklist in a page protector and use a wet erase pen! This way you can reuse the printable! I love wet erase pens because they don’t wipe away as easily as dry erase pens!
Always Start With Decluttering
This is one of the biggest secrets behind making cleaning manageable! The less stuff you have the easier (and faster) it is to clean! I promise! Always start with decluttering. Especially if you're just beginning, try not to dive straight into deep cleaning. Instead, use the first few sessions in a zone to remove what you no longer need.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard the Flylady talk about decluttering as a part of zone work? I know she has you decluttering but it feels more random and separate. I’ve found great success not only in decluttering our whole home this way but also maintaining it.
Basically your training yourself each time your in a new zone to look for clutter! It just become second nature!
✨ P.S. I’m working on a full decluttering guide to support this step—because I know how overwhelming it can feel. That’s coming soon!

What If I Have More Than One Bedroom?
Don’t stress! Zone 4 covers all bedrooms in your home. But that doesn’t mean you have to deep clean them all at once. We don’t want to burn you out!
Here’s how I approach it:
Start with the bedroom that needs attention most (often the one you sleep in!).
Work through the checklist 15 mins a day while in zone 4.
If you finish early or have extra time, move to the next bedroom.
Didn’t finish all the rooms? That’s okay. Just note where you stopped and pick back up next month when Zone 4 comes back around.
This system is meant to build momentum and consistency. It’s going to really challenge you to let go of perfection, which I believe is the gateway to procrastination lol.
Seriously though, if you’re used to this all or nothing mentality the Flylady system is going to feel really uncomfortable. Ask me how I know.

I made this printable just for you! Whether you’re using it inside your FlyLady Control Journal or taping it to the wall as a little motivation boost, it’s designed to help you make progress without burnout.
What’s included:
A ready-to-use deep cleaning checklist for bedrooms
A blank version so you can build your own custom list
Sized for easy printing!
Using This Checklist in Your FlyLady Control Journal
If you’re building a FlyLady Control Journal, this printable is the perfect addition! Just slide it into a page protector or folder and reference it each month when Zone 4 comes around.
Even if you’re not a full Control Journal person, having a central place for your printables can help keep your routines visible and easy to follow.
Remember this is about building habits not building pressure lol
Don’t let a messy bedroom make you feel like you’re behind. All it takes is one small action to get moving.
Print your checklist, set a timer for 15 minutes, and choose one thing. Wipe a baseboard, declutter a drawer, or clear off your nightstand.
You’ve got this. And the more often you show up for these little tasks, the more peace you’ll feel in your home.
💛 Let me know in the comments how Zone 4 is going for you—or which zone checklist you want next. I’m cheering you on every step of the way! Hugs.
